ALAVIS™ Hemagel
Unique hydrophilic gel which promotes the healing process for minor injuries and for larger chronic wounds.

ALAVIS™ Hemagel is:
suitable for large or small pets or exotic animals
treats wounds easily and quickly, providing immediate relief
heals minor injuries and larger chronic wounds

The product’s unique ingredients chemically bind to the oxygen free radicals which are produced in inflammatory processes, speed up the wound healing process, reduce the risk of complicated healing and suppress wound pain. The product strong>creates a surface layer which acts like a second skin>/strong>, helping to protect it from external influences, and creating a favourable environment for healing wounds, either acute or chronic (e.g. post-operative or other skin damage). A moist environment in wound healing is the modern and fundamental principle of the treatment. A stable moisture level in a wound prevents scab formation, speeding up the healing process.

Notice: This product is self-sterile – after opening it can continue to be used until its expiry date.

No side-effects such as allergies, increased pain etc. have been observed when using ALAVIS™ Hemagel, nor are any other contraindications seen. The product should not be used after the expiry date marked on the tube. Should any side effects occur (increased pain, rash etc.) stop using the medicine and consult your veterinary surgeon. The product is not suitable for internal use.

Method of use:
Clean the wound from mechanical impurities, e.g. dust particles, remnants of prior treatments, which could subsequently irritate and damage the wound.
Open the tube by piercing it with the upturned cap.
Apply a small amount of gel to the whole base of the wound. The gel will attach itself to the bottom of the wound and gradually absorb secretions and other liquids from the wound.
Apply the gel as needed at least once every 24 hours

For greater effect, cover the wound with a sterile pad, ideally a non-woven textile. Affixing material should extend approx. 1 cm from the edge of the wound. Dress as needed at least every 24 hours until the problem has disappeared. We recommend more frequent changes of dressing for infected wounds.

Application of the gel is not a replacement for taking antibiotics for very infected wounds.

The effect of the gel results in swelling. The unique gel technology prevents it from sticking to the wound, allowing for easy pain-free removal by gentle wiping.
